EPRO takes over the production of tap changers from Sandner Schalt- und Systemtechnik GmbH
After the closure of Sandner GmbH, we will take over the production of specialized tap changers in close collaboration. On one hand, we require specific versions of these tap changers for our measurement systems; on the other hand, niche products are part of our daily business, and we naturally aim to continue producing them.
Sandner GmbH is assisting us significantly in understanding the production steps and construction methods, enabling us to manufacture these tap changers in the usual highest quality.
Like our testing equipment, the tap changers are precision-crafted products, and we are excited to produce them in our facility and offer them to customers worldwide.

Application Areas:
The tap changers are suitable for use in dry-type transformers. Their purpose is to compensate for voltage fluctuations that occur due to load changes by adjusting the turns ratio on the high-voltage side. The power regulation in parallel operation of large power transformers can also be achieved with these tap changers.
Another application is the regulation of voltages in welding transformers.
Product Description:
The individual phases of the tap changers are constructed in stacked layers. Each layer is equipped with a main contact and the corresponding number of tap contacts (up to 11 steps). A switching disc connects the individual steps with the main contact. The switching of the taps occurs without load and with a break in the circuit.
Thanks to the modular design of the switching layers, dimensional adjustments to customer requirements are always possible.
Devices with a defined 0-position are available (see selection table).
All contact parts are made of high-quality electrolytic copper (E-Cu) with a galvanic hard silver coating. Special surface treatments, such as tin plating, are also available.
