Touch-Safe self supply from the medium voltage grid

EPRO Gallspach GmbH has developed a touch-safe, highly compact transformer, that enables easy implementation of a 230 V supply in switching stations of wind, PV, or hybrid parks, for example.

The transformer is installed on the grid side and supplies the station with 230V power from the generated medium voltage.

The transformer is used wherever:

• a connection to a neighboring grid is not possible,
• no supply transformer is available or no feeder is provided,
• space is very limited and therefore a compact design and touch safety are required,
• or where no additional excavation work can be carried out for low-voltage power supply.

So far, two transformer models have been delivered to our customers:

Type HVOTT 24/5 transforms 20 kV to 230 V,

Type HVOTT 36/5 transforms 33 kV to 230 V, both with a power rating of 5 kVA.

The type designation refers to insulation level and nominal power.

Other models, such as self-supply transformers with a power rating of 10 kVA, are also available upon request.
