Cast resin products

The in house vacuum casting facility uses epoxy resins that are specially formulated to meet the requirements of both medium- and high voltage applications.

The main products of our vacuum casting facility are cable terminations and insulators, although insulating rings and joints are also manufactured.

We offer our customers a complete service  – from design to production.

Thanks to our collaboration with leading mold makers, we are able to offer an “all-in-one” solution. Electrodes and casting inserts are sourced by EPRO, and the casting molds can be maintained directly on site.

Even during the design phase, we provide valuable support to ensure that production can later be carried out as efficiently as possible. This results in fully optimized products and a lower unit price. Electrodes, in particular, are critical components of cast resin insulators. We work exclusively with quality suppliers to guarantee consistently high part quality for our customers.

In house testing:
A high-quality surface finish over the entire outer area of cast resin insulators –  especially on sealing surfaces – is essential to meet our high quality standards. Each cast resin insulator undergoes individual testing in house. In addition to precise dimensional and visual inspections, strength and tightness are verified through pressure testing.

External testing:
External testing services are offered in coordination with customers. For example, X-ray inspections can be performed by partner companies.

EPRO’s cast resin insulators are designed for voltage levels ranging from 72.5 kV to 500 kV and comply with the applicable standards. In addition to our vacuum casting system for series production, we also offer the realization of small batches using manual casting. This service is especially popular with customers who need small series in various resin formulations using conventional casting methods.

If required, we can also vacuum cast these small batches.
