Parallel feed coupling type KT
Type KT is designed for indoor usage, while type FKT is suitable for outdoor use.
The mains connection is via nickel-plated M10 bolt terminals directly on the high voltage coils.
The transmitting connection is positioned on the base of the unit and also features M10 bolt terminals.
The KT transformers are iron-free with the active part consisting of 2 concentric coil systems mounted on a triangular steel base.
The mains winding is divided into 2 coils cast in epoxy resin with additional tapping points. A spark gap protects the coils from damage due to over-voltage.
The transmitting winding is also fitted with extra tapping points and is located concentrically inside the mains coils. The gap between the mains winding and transmitting winding is adjustable to provide infinitely variable control of the coupling factor.
The outdoor version features a cover made of weather-resistant synthetic material to encase the whole unit and the base is hot-dip galvanised.
The mains connection is via leadthroughs on top of the unit (M12 bolt terminals).
The transmitting end connection is via cable leadthroughs in the base.
These transformers are installed in a vertical position.
Dimensioning is in accordance with DIN 57532 / VDE 0532 (Part 22).
