Audio frequency suppressor type FTFS
These single-phase, dry-insulated components are designed together with a capacitor bank to block audio frequency voltages in medium voltage circuits, i.e. they suppress or eliminate undesirable audio frequencies spreading to mains components and equipment.
As a result the audio frequency is reduced reactively so that a lower audio frequency level is required. The mains connection is via nickel-plated copper terminals on top, which are fitted with tapped holes.
The resonance end connection features M10 bolt terminals in a separate terminal box at the base of the transformer.
The resonance circuit capacitor bank is located in a separate panel (outdoor or indoor versions available) and is tuned to the frequency that is to be blocked.
The components are manufactured in brace support form with cast resin insulators.
The mains winding is located on a vertical radial-wound rod core.
The resonance winding is cast in epoxy resin and forms the outer protective sleeve and outer insulation of the transformer. The transformer is mounted using the aluminium base, in which the transmitting end terminal box is also integrated.
These transformers need to be transported and installed in a vertical position.
Dimensioning is in accordance with DIN 57532 / VDE 0532 (Part 22).
